Raffles Hotel Singapore Staycation – The Suite Life
The Lovely Surprise
During the reservation process, I had informed the hotel it was our first time staying at Raffles Hotel and a belated Mother’s Day treat for my Mum as we couldn’t go out to celebrate due to the Circuit Breaker imposed by the SG Govt.
We were relaxing in the parlour after lunch on the first day, when the doorbell rang. I was surprised to see the Butler at the door with a piece of cake with a “Happy Mother’s Day” chocolate tag. We were totally trilled by this gesture.
Mum loved the Raspberry Vanilla Cake as the Raspberry sauce (her fav!) filling complimented the chocolate coating nicely and the Vanilla flavoured mousse gave the cake a soft and fluffy texture.
The next day, they surprised us again with another cake! This time they said it was for a birthday. We were puzzled as neither of our birthdays were closed to the staycation dates. However, the Butler insisted it was meant for our room. We gladly thanked him for the cake and we got to enjoy the delicious cake a second time.
Another Surprise
Another surprise (probably not under the category of “Lovely”) – I had told my Mum to “Let’s dress up” for our Raffles Hotel stay since it was such a grand hotel. When we got there, we found majority of the guests, who were mostly Caucasians, in T-shirts and Shorts or Sundress! Not quite the image I was expecting. I decided to go with the flow and by check-out day, I was in T-shirt and Yoga pants!

Snuffy was upset he couldn’t travel this year when I had to cancel our April Japan trip! So got to bring him along to test out the beds. *LOL*
