Raffles Hotel Singapore Staycation – The Suite Life
The Suite
IT IS HUGE!
I had booked for the State Room Suite 2 Doubles, located in the historic Bras Basah Wing, which “features a parlour, two separate entrances and ensuite marble bathroom. 2 Queen Beds, 67 sqm*/721 sqft, 14ft/4m high ceilings with splendid fans”. (*67sqm is equivalent to the size of a 3 room HDB flat)
We went in from the entrance facing Raffles Hotel, which led us into the foyer with the bathroom on the right. The bedroom area came next, followed by the parlour right at the other end. There was another entrance facing Raffles City which lead directly to the parlour.
The parlour had a sitting area, a dining table, a pantry station and there were books to read if you so inclined. My Mum and I totally love the room and spent a lot of time in the parlour during our stay.
The bedroom is bathed with warm lights, making it nice and cosy for a good night sleep. My Mum liked the bed as it was firm, and she slept well both nights. On the other hand, I didn’t sleep well as it was too firm for me. Not sure why but there’s something about hotel rooms’ air conditioning that always either gets too cold or too warm in the middle of the night and that affected my sleep as well.
The bathroom is spacious with double sinks, bathtub on the right and shower and toilet stalls on the left.
Everything in the Suite such as lights, curtains, TVs, except for the fans, were controllable with the 2 tablets provided (1 in the parlour, 1 in the bedroom). Definitely makes life easier as we could sit in one spot and select TV channels or close the curtain without walking a step.
