Raffles Hotel Singapore Staycation – The Suite Life

I started searching for deals when the Singapore Government announced in July that some hotels were cleared for Staycation. I was very interested in the Raffles Hotel Singapore Staycation – The Suite Life Promo starting from S$795++ prepaid for 2 nights, daily breakfast for 2, S$100 credit (additional S$50 if stay starts between Sun – Wed), 15% discount at their restaurants and boutique, Singapore Sling for 2, free gift from their boutique, daily 1.5 hour access at the pool and gym, plus a history tour of the grand dame. The Staycation Promo was only available for stay dates up to 30 Sept 2020.

It was such a hard offer to refuse as S$795 usually only gets you 1 night stay with no perks.

Even so, it took awhile to consider as everyone was saying to save money during these uncertain times. A friend convinced me to reward myself for all the hard work and I also wanted my Mum to have the chance to stay at Raffles Hotel.

So, I took the plunged and booked us a room from 12-14 Aug. We only managed to get complimentary early check-in while the late check-out and upgrade were not available. If you want to get at least the late check-out, it would be best if you book for a check-in between Sun – Tue as the weekends tend to be more packed.

Arriving at Raffles Hotel

I’ve walked past Raffles Hotel and only gone to Raffles Hotel Arcade area but never into the hotel itself. Thus, it was with excitement when we arrived at Raffles Hotel and were greeted by the world-famous iconic Raffles Sikh Doorman (Oops! Forgotten to take individual photos of them in my excitement to be there but they can be found easily on line if you search for them).

As we entered the Grand Lobby, the first thing that struck us was the new grand chandelier, glistening above the hall, that was installed during the recent 2017-2019 renovations.

We really liked the dark teakwood floors and stairways which contrasted beautifully with the white walls and ornate cornices. The antique furniture placed around the hotel added to the grandeur and we felt transported back in time.
