About holiday home Terminal A01

Terminal A01 is a 2-bedroom (1 Western style and 1 Japanese style) apartment on the ground floor. The host, Asako and Kenji, live right above Terminal A01, so no worries if you require some assistance as they are close by.

Western and Japanese BedroomsThe bedrooms can sleep 5, 2 on the twin beds and 3 on futons. If there are 6 guests, the sofa bed in the living room can be used. Internet access is provided by a portable pocket Wifi that guests can also bring with them when they go out. Do remember to return the pocket Wifi before checking out.

Holiday Home Terminal A01Terminal A01 has a large living and dining area with a kitchenette. The bathroom and toilet are detached making it easier for a large group. There is a washing machine and a coin operated dryer for guests to do laundry. This apartment was designed with a specific luggage storage area where suitcases can stay open and not get in anyone’s way. There is also desk space if you need to work on your laptop.

I understand from Asako, they have added more appliances to Terminal A01 to make their guests’ stay even more comfortable. Guest can now cook rice and do Shabu Shabu or Sukiyaki at the dining table. This holiday home apartment is very well equipped. There’s even a weighing machine you can use to weigh your bags to ensure your luggage is not overweight!

If you’re looking for a good place to stay in Tokyo, consider this holiday home Terminal A01, hosted by Asako and Kenji. Read till the end for a special discount only for Eat & Travel, Ling! readers!

Access to holiday home Terminal A01

Terminal A01 is located near Nishi-Magome Station, the south terminal station of Toei Asakusa Line. Toei Asakusa Line leads directly to Ginza and Asakusa, while a train change at Gotanda Station puts you on the Yamanote Line. Thus, getting around Tokyo is easy and convenient.

There is direct access from and to the airports from holiday home Terminal A01. One can get to/from Narita International Airport easily with a direct train or just 1 transfer across the platform at Sengakuji Station. If your flight is at Haneda Airport, a train switch at Sengakuji Station is required. Do note when switching trains at Sengakuji Station, a little more effort with luggage is required as one platform has an escalator while the other platform only has stairs.

It cost around JPY4,500+ if you prefer to take a taxi to Haneda Airport from holiday home Terminal A01.

There are 2 platforms at Nishi-Magome Station. If you arrive at Nishi-Magome Station Platform 2 like I did with luggage, just head towards the South Exit. Take the elevator down and transfer to Platform 1 by taking the elevator up. You can then exit at East Exit which has an elevator to Street level. From there it’s just 2 mins walk (less if no luggage) along a few small streets to holiday home Terminal A01.

About the Neighbourhood

Holiday home Terminal A01 is in a quaint local neighbourhood, a good place to experience life as a local. There is a supermarket (10am-10pm) and Family Mart Konbini (24hr convenience shop) 2 mins walk away, and several neighbourhood eateries and family restaurants nearby.

Holiday Home Terminal A01There is a bakery and an old retro style café a short walk from the apartment. In early June, the café has dozens of plants including Hydrangea blooming outside, making it very Instagramable. Just note that the coffee isn’t the best according to my friend BB.

Holiday Home Terminal A01My friend, SL, told me of a delicious handmade mochi sold by an old couple whose shop is just across the street from the apartment. Good idea for gifts though you may need to get suitable container to bring them back to your country without squashing them.

Places of interest nearby include Ikegami Baien for Plum Blossoms in Feb (entrance fee JPY100) and Ikegami Honmonji Temple where the Oeshiki Festival is held yearly on 11-13 Oct.

Asako and Kenji also provide sightseeing suggestions with information placed in their holiday home apartment.

Terminal A01 Apartment Door Access

There are 2 methods to access the apartment – by Smart Lock App or by physical key. Asako and Kenji will send you the information closer to your arrival date.

If you’re using the key box for the physical key instead of the Smart Lock app, you need to push down on the reset button once before keying in the pin code. Then push down and pull on the Open button to open the cover. Took us a couple of tries to open the key box, just need to get the hang of it. You’ll only need to return the key to the key box upon your check-out.
